The select&nbsp;<strong>Control Panel<\/strong>&nbsp;&gt;&nbsp;<strong>System\nand Security&nbsp;<\/strong>&gt;&nbsp;<strong>Administrative Tools<\/strong>, and then\ndouble-click&nbsp;<strong>Computer Management<\/strong>.<\/li><li>In the left pane, under&nbsp;<strong>Storage<\/strong>,\nselect&nbsp;<strong>Disk Management<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Right-click an unallocated region on your hard\ndisk, and then select&nbsp;<strong>New Simple Volume<\/strong>.<\/li><li>In the&nbsp;<strong>New Simple Volume Wizard<\/strong>,\nselect&nbsp;<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Enter the size of the volume you want to\ncreate in megabytes (MB) or accept the maximum default size, and then\nselect&nbsp;<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li><li>Accept the default drive letter or choose a\ndifferent drive letter to identify the partition, and then select&nbsp;<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li><li>In the&nbsp;<strong>Format Partition<\/strong>&nbsp;dialog\nbox, do one of the following:<ol><li>If you\ndon&#8217;t want to format the volume right now, select&nbsp;<strong>Do not format this\nvolume<\/strong>, and then select&nbsp;<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol><ol><li>To format\nthe volume with the default settings, select&nbsp;<strong>Next<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><li>Review your choices, and then select&nbsp;<strong>Finish<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Notes: When you create new partitions on a basic disk, the first three will be formatted as primary partitions. Beginning with the fourth, each one will be configured as a logical drive within an extended partition.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/support.microsoft.com\/\"><strong>To format an existing partition (volume)<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Warning: Formatting a volume will destroy any data on the partition.
