The instructions below are for Windows\nVista, 7 and 8 installed on the Eglobal Micro PC you use.
\nTo install a microphone in Windows 10, first click the search icon\n(magnifying glass) in the bottom-left corner of the screen. Then type:\n“Set up a microphone” and push enter. Then follow the instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now back to the\nWindows Vista, 7 and 8 instructions. In Vista and Windows 7, open the Start\nMenu<\/em> and click on Control Panel<\/em>.
\nIn Windows 8: take your mouse cursor to the upper-right corner of the\nscreen, when menu pops up, click search. Type: “Control Panel” in the\nsearch box, and then click Control Panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the Control\nPanel<\/em> window opens, click on Hardware and Sound<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you are in the Hardware and Sound<\/em> list,\nclick on em>Sound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Sound<\/em> window\nyou have three tabs: click on the Recording<\/em> tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you are in\nthe Recording<\/em> tab, right click on the microphone device you\njust plugged in and select the ‘Set as Default Device’<\/em> option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, to test and\nsee if it really works, tap the microphone with your finger a few times. In\nthe Sounds<\/em> window, the empty lines next to the default\nmicrophone should fill up with a green color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are in\nthe Recording<\/em> tab and you can\u2019t see your microphone device,\nright click on any device shown in the Recording<\/em> tab. In the\ncontextual menu, click ‘Show Disabled devices’<\/em> if it isn\u2019t\nmarked with a check sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you still\ncan\u2019t see your microphone, you might have not plugged it properly or you need\nto install a driver for it to work. In the first case, check to see if you have\nplugged it properly into your computer, plug it again or, if it is on a USB\nport, plug it in another USB port. As for the second case, use the drivers from\nthe manufacturer\u2019s site or from the CD that came along with the product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At this point\nWindows Vista may still not recognize that the microphone has been activated.\nSo we need to make Windows Vista aware of the tone and sound of our voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important:<\/strong> The\nfollowing steps will be also done in the Windows Speech Recognition article so,\nif you came to this article from that one, you can now go to that one and\ncontinue reading from there.\n\nOpen the Control Panel<\/em> window\nand click on Ease of Access<\/em>.\n\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, in\nthe Ease of Access<\/em> window, click on Set up Microphone<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Choose the\nmicrophone device that you currently use and click on the Next<\/em> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few\nindications are given and, if they are followed, will give a better user\nexperience. In my case, since I have selected the Headset microphone the\nindications are as shown in the image. Once you have read the advice given,\nclick on the Next<\/em> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you\naccidentally selected the wrong device or want to go back to a previous page of\nthe setup, click on the blue Back<\/em> arrow positioned in the top\nleft corner of the setup wizard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Read the given\ntext aloud and, afterwards, click on the Next<\/em> button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In some cases the microphone does not work in the wizard setup, although it might be enabled and functions properly according to the\u00a0Recording<\/em>\u00a0tab. If this happens, close the wizard setup and, after you checked to see you have the correct microphone device enabled, open the setup wizard again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In my case, for\nexample, I have activated the microphone on the headset only when I got to this\nstep and it doesn\u2019t seem to work. A few taps on the microphone shows me that it\nworks in the Recording tab, but does not work in the setup wizard, so\nI must restart the wizard setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, assuming\nyou read the text and clicked on the Next<\/em> button, the wizard\nsetup will tell you that the microphone has been set up and also you will be\nprompted about setting up the Speech Recognition by pressing\nthe Finish button.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
