Then type:\n&#8220;Set up a microphone&#8221; and push enter. Then follow the instructions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now back to the\nWindows Vista, 7 and 8 instructions. In&nbsp;Vista and Windows 7, open the&nbsp;<em>Start\nMenu<\/em>&nbsp;and click on&nbsp;<em>Control Panel<\/em>.<br>\nIn&nbsp;Windows 8: take your mouse cursor to the upper-right corner of the\nscreen, when menu pops up, click search. In\nthe&nbsp;<em>Sounds<\/em>&nbsp;window, the empty lines next to the default\nmicrophone should fill up with a green color.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"417\" height=\"468\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/5-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-195\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/5-1.jpg 417w, https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/5-1-267x300.jpg 267w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 417px) 85vw, 417px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are in\nthe&nbsp;<em>Recording<\/em>&nbsp;tab and you can\u2019t see your microphone device,\nright click on any device shown in the&nbsp;<em>Recording<\/em>&nbsp;tab. In the\ncontextual menu, click&nbsp;<em>&#8216;Show Disabled devices&#8217;<\/em>&nbsp;if it isn\u2019t\nmarked with a check sign.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"413\" height=\"457\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/6-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-196\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/6-1.jpg 413w, https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/6-1-271x300.jpg 271w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 413px) 85vw, 413px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If you still\ncan\u2019t see your microphone, you might have not plugged it properly or you need\nto install a driver for it to work. In the first case, check to see if you have\nplugged it properly into your computer, plug it again or, if it is on a USB\nport, plug it in another USB port. In my case, since I have selected the Headset microphone the\nindications are as shown in the image. Once you have read the advice given,\nclick on the&nbsp;<em>Next<\/em>&nbsp;button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\naccidentally selected the wrong device or want to go back to a previous page of\nthe setup, click on the blue&nbsp;<em>Back<\/em>&nbsp;arrow positioned in the top\nleft corner of the setup wizard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"458\" height=\"380\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/11-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-201\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/11-1.jpg 458w, https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/11-1-300x249.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 458px) 85vw, 458px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Read the given\ntext aloud and, afterwards, click on the&nbsp;<em>Next<\/em>&nbsp;button.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"468\" height=\"387\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/12-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-202\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/12-1.jpg 468w, https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/12-1-300x248.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 468px) 85vw, 468px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In some cases the microphone does not work in the wizard setup, although it might be enabled and functions properly according to the\u00a0<em>Recording<\/em>\u00a0tab. If this happens, close the wizard setup and, after you checked to see you have the correct microphone device enabled, open the setup wizard again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In my case, for\nexample, I have activated the microphone on the headset only when I got to this\nstep and it doesn\u2019t seem to work. A few taps on the microphone shows me that it\nworks in the&nbsp;Recording&nbsp;tab, but does not work in the setup wizard, so\nI must restart the wizard setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"468\" height=\"387\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/14-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/14-1.jpg 468w, https:\/\/www.pcstationcn.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/14-1-300x248.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 468px) 85vw, 468px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, assuming\nyou read the text and clicked on the&nbsp;<em>Next<\/em>&nbsp;button, the wizard\nsetup will tell you that the microphone has been set up and also you will be\nprompted about setting up the&nbsp;Speech Recognition&nbsp;by pressing\nthe&nbsp;Finish&nbsp;button.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The instructions below are for Windows Vista, 7 and 8 installed on the Eglobal Micro PC you use.
